Originally from the U.S., Leah Janeczko has lived in Italy since 1991 and for over 25 years has worked as an Italian-to-English translator of fiction for readers of all ages.
Her recent translations include Roberto Piumini’s Glowrushes, chosen by The New York Times as one of the best children’s books of 2023 and by Michael Morpurgo as his favorite children’s book of the year; and Veronica Raimo’s Lost on Me, for which she and Veronica were longlisted for the International Booker Prize.
In 2024, Leah curated the Global Literature in Libraries Initiative’s first Italian Lit Month blog, which featured 50 articles written by over 30 Italian-to-English literary translators. Read about it here.
